IoT (Internet of Things) is an arrangement of interrelated Computing Devices, Mechanical and Advanced Machines, Objects, creatures or individuals having Unique Identifiers (UIDs) that have capability of transferring information over a Network. In particular, the Internet of Things is an augmentation of connections among individuals and computers to incorporate digitally-interconnected “things.”

It basically depicts a scenario where everything in the surrounding environment is able to automatically communicate with one-another, devoid of any Inter-human and Human-to-Machine Interaction.

IoT is gaining attention in every field including Healthcare, Industries, Transportation, Agriculture, Home Automation and for developing smart cities. Another vital application of Internet of Things lies in detection of natural calamities e.g. earthquake, tsunamis and floods.

An Internet of Things (IoT) system comprises of ” Smart Devices” that are Web-enabled, making use of Sensors, Processors and other hardware for communication that are capable of collecting, sending and processing the acquired data. The devices are able to do the majority of the work without human intercession, despite the fact that individuals can communicate with the devices too – for example, setting them up, giving them directions or for accessing the information. Even without human intercession, the machines are capable of communicating with one another prompting quicker and appropriate output.

The numerous benefits of using IoT-based systems are listed below:

  • Time-saving.
  • Affordable.
  • Saves and conserves energy and cost.
  • Maintains uniformity and transparency in tasks.
  • Provides more efficiency.
  • Provides support for better decision-making.
  • Provides more convenience and enhanced comfort to users.

These are only a couple of advantages of IoT. It is apparent that it opens a wide range of conceivable outcomes to improve the personal satisfaction in all perspectives. In any case, it is evident that we tap on the correct spots to make this innovation work the best for mankind.
